A bright future lies ahead for the application of natural biocomposites in food industry. In this research, edible biocomposite films were created using sodium caseinate (SC)-gum tragacanth (GT) and incorporating carum carvi seed essential oil (EO) as a nanoemulsion. Different ratios used variables. The physical properties, structural morphology, mechanical characteristics, thermal behavior evaluated. Furthermore, preservative effects these studied to prolong shelf life black mulberries over period 10 days at 4 °C. findings indicated that increase EO content resulted significant thickness, tensile strength, opacity water vapor permeability. Conversely, elongation break, solubility moisture decreased with rise up 3.9%. Also visual appearance sensory evaluation fruits revealed covered containing 2.6 3.9% more preferred compared other groups. integration caraway into SC-GT has been investigated first time, demonstrating resulting are effective prolonging mulberries.

With the emphasis placed by society on environmental resources, current petroleum-based packaging in food industry can no longer meet people's needs. However, new active technologies have emerged, such as proteins, polysaccharides, and lipids, which proteins are widely used for their outstanding gel film-forming properties. Most of literature focuses research applications single protein-based films. In this paper, we review novel that been recent years to categorize different including plant (soybean protein isolate, zein, gluten protein) animal (whey casein, collagen, gelatin). The advances recently made technology be understood describing sources, properties, molding principles, applied research. This paper presents problems prospects technology, provides ideas development types expansion future, promotes innovation environmentally friendly packaging.

Owing to its natural degradability and excellent film-forming characteristics, sodium alginate (SA) is gaining growing popularity in the field of food packaging. However, insufficient antioxidant antibacterial properties hinder application. In current research, protocatechuic acid (PCA) Fe3+ were utilized fabricate a metal polyphenol network structure. Subsequently, geranium essential oil emulsion (GEOE) was incorporated into SA matrix, SA-based films prepared through flat-sheet casting method. The impacts PCA/Fe various concentrations GEOE on physical, structural, as well functional characteristics comprehensively examined. thickness between 30 50 μm. results showed that PCA/Fe, GEOE, exhibited good biocompatibility, formed uniform. incorporation significantly improved UV blocking ability, thermal stability, activity films. addition, enhanced total capacity from 3.5% 88%. This research could provide some theoretical basis for utilization networks oils within realm active packaging
