Diverse biomass sources from the Canary Islands (vineyard, tomato plant residues, pine needles and Pennisetum setaceum) were assessed due to their local abundance, availability, low supply cost. Based on physico-chemical properties, various thermochemical processes conducted assess thermal degradation behaviour, using simultaneous analysis, potential for energy production.
