The
insecticide
susceptibility
of
Helopeltis
theivora
Waterhouse
(Hemiptera:
Miridae)
is
being
evaluated
using
shoot
and
glass-vial
assay
as
described
by
IRAC.
However,
the
reliability
depends
on
feeding
preference
contact
toxicity.
Hence,
cocoa
pod
was
used
a
substrate
to
test
H.
in
comparison
with
existing
methods.
experimental
results
revealed
that
LC50
value
all
insecticides
relatively
lower
bioassay
than
other
two
methods
exhibited
maximum
mortality
within
6
hr
post-exposure.
Among
insecticides,
fipronil
most
effective
molecule
followed
lambda-cyhalothrin.
theivora,
which
prefers
feed
due
more
tissue
turgidity,
thus
facilitated
adequate
sap
ingestion;
whereas,
these
were
limited
bioassays.
Therefore,
it
could
be
methodology
determine
against
wide
range
molecules.
