Iron-based nanostructures mediated by plant aqueous extract were synthesized. The subjected to ultraviolet radiation degrade a difficult-to-degrade compound. Various characterization techniques performed analyze the morphology of nanomaterial, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission (TEM), as well crystallinity X-ray diffraction (XRD). chemical composition was investigated energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDX) structural characteristics Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR), Raman spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). results showed that nanoparticles exhibited high photocatalytic efficiency, achieving 80% degradation pollutant. study concludes iron synthesized with are promising for recalcitrant compounds, combining good efficiency cost-effective synthesis approach.

In this study, novel Fe2O3/TiO2 photocatalytic composites were synthesised by combining traditional oxidation roasting with the sol-gel method, using low-cost metallurgical waste (iron scales) as raw material. The characterisation results revealed that oxidised iron scales could be transformed into high-purity and porous Fe2O3 particles through roasting, thereby providing additional sites for adsorption process thus serving an effective carrier TiO2-based materials. During process, TiO2 was loaded onto particles, generating core-shell heterostructure composites. Under visible light irradiation 90 min, achieved a remarkable methylene blue removal rate (97.71%). This reaction followed quasi-first-order kinetic model constant of 0.038 min−1. have demonstrated combination various components in improved adsorption, utilisation, charge separation effect photocatalysts. Moreover, material exhibited favourable stability recyclability, making it decent candidate treatment wastewater from biochemical industry. Therefore, study provides new strategy improving activity expanding high value-added utilisation scales.
