Enhancing the energy efficiency and climate resilience of existing buildings is crucial amid growing environmental challenges. While extensive research has focused on non-residential buildings, studies thermo-hygrometric conditions in warehouse-type particularly subtropical climates, remain limited. This study investigated impact building envelope deficiencies indoor thermal moisture regulation at Nori Distribution Center. Using infrared imaging long-term monitoring, significant fluctuations were identified, primarily due to design construction deficiencies. Poor insulation, inadequate sealing, lack barriers contributed unstable temperature humidity. Seasonal analysis showed that during summer, median second-floor air reached 28.8 °C, peaking 39.2 with relative humidity exceeding 70% for 45% time. First-floor surpassed 72% condensation risk remains low year-round, it increases significantly infiltration through gaps envelope. recommends enhancing sealing envelope, upgrading insulation materials barriers, roof, optimizing HVAC system improve storage conditions. These findings offer valuable recommendations retrofitting climates resilience.

In order to meet the international goals for a sustainable development, it is mandatory implement energy saving solutions on existing buildings and industrial ones should be also addressed since industry related consumption covers approximately one third of global demand. Industrial facilities are usually characterized by low overall quality standards performance levels, largely influenced their old age architectural/technological, energy, structural issues. The paper aims at outlining current state research manufacturing facilities, focusing efficiency redevelopment solutions. PRISMA methodology was adopted in initial stages, coupled with computer-aided bibliometric review tool: globally, 203 scientific papers retrieved Web Of Science ScienceDirect databases were analysed. Three main areas interest pointed out referring seismic behaviour, building envelope systems performance, energy-related analysis conducted revealed significant gap literature concerning integrated retrofit serves as robust knowledge base development comprehensive guidelines this peculiar stock.

Metamodeling is a promising technique for alleviating the computational burden of building energy simulation. Although various machine learning (ML) algorithms have been applied, interactive effects multiple factors on ML algorithm performance remain unclear. In this study, six popular algorithms, including ridge regression, random forest, extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost), support vector regression (SVR), k-nearest neighbor (KNN) and multi-layer perceptron (MLP), were analyzed benchmark metamodeling problem in simulation under impacts four factors: input dimension, sample size, degree input-output sensitivity hyperparameter optimization (HPO) technique. The results indicated that XGBoost had high model precision strong robustness, while KNN SVR performed poorly two metrics. Increasing size could mitigate impact other three precision, especially MLP. findings will assist designers, engineers researchers selecting suitable HPO techniques based dataset's characteristics facilitate application design optimization, analysis decision-making processes.

Industrial buildings in Italy are generally aged and widely outdated from an architectural, technological, environmental perspective. Despite the current limitations affecting both envelope system installations, enhancement strategies not frequently debated literature or addressed recurring to adequately comprehensive approaches. This research examines space heating options for integrated retrofit interventions of manufacturing facilities using a novel methodology that combines multi-criteria decision analysis based on Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) with building energy simulations. Interviews representatives medium-sized companies Tuscany provide insights into exigencies industrial buildings, while on-site surveys identify common features region leading identification representative case study building. facility is examined producing several models account different alternatives be evaluated according criteria including economic, environmental, comfort, space, reliability. In addition, sensitivity analyses carried out highlight impact boundary conditions optimal configuration selection. Economic considerations weigh heavily owners, often outweighing concerns due higher initial investment requirements low-impact solutions. Consequently, gas boiler generators hot-water fan heaters emerge as preferred their flexibility, low cost, ease installation.

Abstract In this paper, field tests, questionnaire surveys, and DesignBuilder were used to analyse the indoor thermal environment energy consumption of traditional houses in a ethnic minority village Western Sichuan Plateau China, The results showed that during summer test period, outdoor temperature range was 9.3–7.8 °C relative humidity 53.5–67.4%, while tested room 13.3–2.3 °C, 69.1–83.0%. is high, does not meet requirement local standard. Therefore, corresponding energy-saving optimization measures are proposed. winter heating building model data, compared with heat load before optimization, saving reaches about 56.5%. addition, carbon emissions economic suitability different methods evaluated. Electric heating, coal-fired biomass have payback periods 11 years, 24 years 6 respectively. With perspective focusing on special regional characteristics plateau, research aims promote conservation sustainable development buildings minorities, help improve living Plateau. future, long-term monitoring mechanism can be established continuously track residential after adoption evaluate actual effect these measures.
