This work aims to enhance productivity and reduce the production cost of conical solar distillers using green inexpensive materials. Conical stills are characterized by their cover is always exposed same radiation in all locations do not create shading. Different graphite bars installed at various distances still basin, acting as corrugated surfaces energy storage materials increase interface area, losses, overall performance. Three were designed tested investigate effect changing (0 30 mm) between rods on rate climatic conditions El Oued, Algeria. Furthermore, energy, exergy, economic, exergoeconomic approaches conducted assess viability proposed distillers. Results showed that reducing increases due increased interfacial space with basin water excess heat absorbed during day. The exergy efficiencies incorporated improved 46.23–90.46 % 181–321 respectively, compared traditional still. Based exergo-economic approach, annual outlets 45.65–90.46 187.5–439 yield payback period decreased 40.41–74.91 28.8–42.8 Finally, represent a good option for obtaining high performance economic benefit.

In this study, performance enhancement of conical distillers was investigated with various natural sand bed types. Four types different colors (compositions and concentrations chemical compounds) were tested used as thermal storage materials to reduce heat loss, enhance evaporation process, daily production. Three similar designed experimentally under the same climatic parameters over two consecutive days. Performance proposed distillers, including yield, energy, exergy, exergo-economic analyzed compared those reference distiller other related studies. Results showed that highest yield values achieved by combined a golden bed. The utilization achieves production 7.38 lm−2day−1 10.31 %, 22.79 35.91 60.43 % yellow sand, red white respectively. energy exergy efficiency golden, yellow, red, beds 59.59 44.84 30.33 17.85 143.52 103.44 64.73 36.39 respectively, higher than distiller.
