The global problem of water scarcity continues to grow because population growth and climate change. Membrane distillation (MD) stands out as a progressing technology, demonstrating the potential for integration with operating systems powered by solar energy. Despite increasing interest in solar-powered MD, existing literature primarily focuses on technical aspects technology. There is notable lack comprehensive analyses that explore broader research trends, key contributors, thematic evolution within this field. This paper addresses gap employing bibliometric analysis machine learning approaches trends membrane desalination based publications from 2014 2023. 991 were analyzed various aspects, such publications, countries, institutions, trends. Hot keywords include "membrane distillation", "reverse osmosis", "energy efficiency", "evaporation". China had highest number h-index, followed United States, Saudi Arabia. study clustered into three themes: distillation, materials, reverse osmosis. Analysis map reveals seven main topics desalination, classified according their degree relevance. Finally, future directions are highlighted, including exploring economic environmental aspects.
