Flexible rechargeable Zn-air batteries (FZABs) exhibit high energy density, ultra-thin, lightweight, green, and safe features, are considered as one of the ideal power sources for flexible wearable electronics. However, slow overpotential oxygen reaction at air cathode has become key factors restricting development FZABs. The improvement activity stability bifunctional catalysts a top priority. At same time, FZABs should maintain battery performance under different bending twisting conditions, design overall structure is also important. Based on understanding three typical configurations working principles FZABs, this work highlights two common strategies applying to FZABs: 1) powder-based 2) self-supported cathode. It summarizes recent advances in electrocatalysts explores various types catalyst structures well related mechanistic understanding. latest research advances, paper introduces discusses modulation expects guide synthesis preparation efficient catalysts. Finally, current status challenges summarized.
