Natural enzymes are used as special reagents for the preparation of electrochemical (bio)sensors due to their ability catalyze processes, improving selectivity detection. However, some drawbacks, such denaturation in harsh experimental conditions and rapid de- gradation, well high cost difficulties recycling them, restrict practical applications. Nowadays, use artificial enzymes, mostly based on nanomaterials, mimicking functions natural products, has been growing. These so-called nanozymes present several advantages over enhanced stability, low cost, easy production, activity. outstanding features responsible widespread areas catalysis, energy, imaging, sensing, or biomedicine. materials can be divided into two main groups: metal carbon-based nanozymes. The latter provides additional compared nanozymes, i.e., stable tuneable activity good biocompatibility, enzyme activities those peroxidase, catalase, oxidase, superoxide dismutase, nuclease, phosphatase. In this review article, we have focused (bio)sensors. most recent applications revised illustrated with examples selected from literature last four years (since 2020).

In this paper, the application of NiO nanosheets (NiO NSs) for detection methotrexate (MTX) is described. The NSs were synthesized using a hydrothermal method. electrocatalytic activity two modifiers, ionic liquid (IL) and NSs, was examined on carbon paste electrode (CPE) in relation to MTX, utilizing voltammetry methods such as cyclic (CV), linear sweep (LSV), differential pulse (DPV), chronoamperometry at 0.1 M phosphate buffer solution (PBS) pH = 7.0. anodic peak currents MTX NSs/IL/CPE approximately 3.5 times greater than those unmodified CPE. Based DPV measurements, electrochemical sensor demonstrated response concentration range (LDR: 0.01 µM 160.0 µM), with limit (LOD: 0.003 µM). Moreover, good stability, repeatability, reproducibility, selectivity, which importance electroanalysis compounds. Lastly, practicality assessed by analyzing levels urine samples pharmaceutical formulation, yielding satisfactory recovery rates 97.1% 103.3%.
