As modern information technology advances and equipment devices update, extended reality (XR) technologies, including virtual (VR), augmented (AR), virtuality (AV) have witnessed an increasing use application in construction training. This review aims to comprehensively examine the evolution of XR training domain. To achieve this, a systematic literature 74 journal papers from Scopus database was conducted. paper outlines progression 2009 2023, detailing related technologies like development platforms, display devices, input devices. The reveals that spans five main areas: (1) safety management, (2) skill/knowledge acquisition, (3) operation, (4) human–computer collaboration, (5) ergonomics/postural Additionally, this explores impact trainee roles on outcomes identifies challenges faced by applications. findings are hoped assist researchers engineering trainers understanding latest advancements XR, thereby providing valuable insights for future research.

Human impression plays a crucial role in effectively designing infrastructures that support active mobility such as walking and cycling. By involving users early the design process, valuable insights can be gathered before physical environments are constructed. This proactive approach enhances attractiveness safety of designed spaces for users. study conducts an experiment comparing real street observations with immersive virtual reality (VR) visits to evaluate user perceptions assess quality public spaces. For this experiment, high-resolution 3D city model large-scale neighborhood was created, utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) Geographic System (GIS) data. The incorporated dynamic elements representing various urban environments: area tramway station, commercial road, residential playground green Participants were presented identical views existing scenes, both through reconstructed scenes using Head-Mounted Display (HMD). They asked questions related streetscape, its walkability, cyclability. From questionnaire, algorithms assessing computed, namely Sustainable Mobility Indicators (SUMI) Pedestrian Level Service (PLOS). quantifies relevance these indicators VR setup correlates them critical factors influencing experience spending time on street. research contributes understanding suitability environment predicting future occupancy.
