This study explores the adoption of data-driven approaches to business process management (BPM) by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), which are crucial for economic growth job creation but often face challenges in adopting advanced technologies. The research aims understand perceived benefits persistent barriers that MSMEs encounter when implementing BPM. A critical review academic literature was conducted, focusing on factors influencing adoption, benefits, existing challenges. Literature consistently highlights such as optimization, informed decision making, customer personalization, operational efficiency, adaptability, risk mitigation, automation, organizational culture transformation, innovation, transparency. However, also identifies significant challenges, including technological infrastructural limitations, resource constraints, training skill gaps, cultural resistance, data quality issues, difficulties implementation change management, analytical technical complexities. These findings emphasize that, while BPM offers substantial opportunities improve competitiveness successful requires careful consideration these multifaceted development tailored strategies overcome them.
