The present paper explores the biological potential of bioactive compounds in wine industry wastes, highlighting their valorization to promote sustainability and circular economy. Wine by-products, such as grape pomace vine shoots, contain a high concentration polyphenols, flavonoids, anthocyanins other phytochemicals with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory anticarcinogenic properties. Both conventional extraction methods, solid-liquid extraction, emerging technologies, including enzyme-assisted ultrasound-assisted supercritical fluid microwave-assisted pressurized liquid high-hydrostatic-pressure deep natural solvent-assisted (NaDES), are discussed. In addition, preservation polyphenolic extracts by microencapsulation, key technique improve stability bioavailability compounds, is addressed. combination advanced methods innovative techniques offers promising perspective for from residues, driving innovation industry.

Climate change is affecting all regions of the world, and Mediterranean region one most affected. Plants accumulate secondary metabolites as an adaptive response to stress circumstances. The present study investigated effect different abiotic factor conditions (drought, moderate heat, severe salinity, UV-B radiation) on essential oil (EO) yield, composition (volatile profile), biological activity (enzyme inhibition antioxidant activity) Lavandula viridis L’Hér. In general, environmental increased extraction yield EO. Eighty-two compounds were identified in EO factors induced some quantitative changes composition. Severe heat salinity concentration two abundant compounds, 1,8-cineole camphor. also potential inhibit enzymes butyrylcholinesterase tyrosinase. Drought, radiation promoted ability acetylcholinesterase. addition, drought enhanced These results are relevant for exploring this industrial applications, although future studies combining studied important understand influence synergistic effects bioactivity plant products obtained.

Industrial waste management is a growing concern, and the valorization of by-products through circular economy approaches represents sustainable solution. In this context, dextran–grape conjugates (PLG–GRAPE) were obtained via grafting reaction grape pomace extract dextran under aqueous conditions. To compare properties polymeric graft with those free extract, total polyphenol content was assessed using Folin–Ciocalteu assay, along stability diffusion studies. addition, in vitro safety evaluations, including Neutral Red Uptake, h-CLAT, skin irritation tests performed to assess biocompatibility. evaluate antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-aging PLG–GRAPE, efficacy assays on keratinocyte fibroblast cell lines full-thickness reconstructed human tissues exposed damaging agents, such as UV radiation pollutants. The results showed that technology preserved phenolic antioxidant activity while improving properties. As demonstrated by studies, favorable biocompatibility profile observed, addition significant capacity reduce oxidative stress inflammation aged cells, thus, attenuating cellular aging senescence. conclusion, study suggests PLG–GRAPE has potential bioactive ingredient for cosmetic dermatological applications, offering effective approach utilizing industrial products.

Background/Objective: Bee pollen, a rich nutritional food, was employed to develop raw material for skin whitening. Methods: The polyphenol profile and antioxidant, antityrosinase, anti-melanogenesis activities of the ethanol extracts five species bee pollens (EEBPs) were determined. Results: results showed that there total 121 phenolic compounds in these EEBPs. Each type pollen had unique substances. best activity observed sunflower EEBP, about 25% at concentration 25 μg/mL BEEP. EEBPs from high low sunflower, apricot, camellia, rapeseed, lotus B16F10 cells positively correlated with antityrosinase phenol content, coefficients 0.987 0.940. Kyoto Encyclopedia Genes Genomes enrichment analysis untargeted proteomics revealed EEBP inhibited melanogenesis by reducing expression proteins MAP2K1, NFKB2, RELB, RPS6KA3, CASP3, TRAF6, MAP2K5, MAPKAPK3, STRADA, CCNA2, FASN involved cAMP, MAPK, TNF signaling pathways, even though pathways not significantly different control group.
