Background Currently, research on the role of hexokinase domain-containing protein-1 (HKDC1) in neoplasm metabolism remains sparse. This study seeks to conduct a thorough investigation HKDC1’s potential functions across thirty-three different tumor types, utilizing data obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). Method We conducted extraction TCGA database, subsequently employing R (version 4.2.2) and its associated software packages for detailed analysis. Our centered evaluating differential expression prognostic significance HKDC1, while also examining connections heterogeneity, mutation profiles, RNA modifications. Furthermore, we analyzed relationship between HKDC1 immunity TIMER analysis approach. Results A comprehensive various types has revealed that is significantly upregulated many malignant tumors. Importantly, patients with elevated levels their tissues often experience poorer prognoses. association expression, immune cell infiltration, existence checkpoints suggests possible connection microenvironment alongside advancement. Gene set enrichment (GSEA) further substantiates idea may play several critical pathways biological processes neoplasm. Additionally, overexpression influenced by promoter methylation alterations DNA copy number amplification. vitro experiments demonstrated silencing resulted marked reduction proliferation, migration, invasion capabilities cells. Conclusion initial pan-cancer provided understanding oncogenic roles diverse cancer types. Moreover, serve as significant biomarker.

: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a debilitating neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the presence of amyloid-β (Aβ) plaques and tau-containing neurofibrillary tangles, leading to cognitive physical decline. Representing majority dementia cases, AD poses significant burden on healthcare systems globally, with onset typically occurring after age 65. While most cases are sporadic, about 10% exhibit autosomal forms associated specific gene mutations. Neurofibrillary tangles Aβ formed misfolded tau proteins peptides contribute neuronal damage impairment. Currently, approved drugs, such as acetylcholinesterase inhibitors N-methyl D-aspartate receptor agonists, offer only partial symptomatic relief without altering progression. A promising development using lecanemab, humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody, an immune therapeutic approach. Lecanemab demonstrates selectivity for polymorphic variants binds large soluble aggregates, providing potential avenue targeted treatment. This shift in understanding role adaptive response pathogenesis opens new possibilities interventions aiming address disease's intricate mechanisms. review aims summarize recent advancements pathophysiology innovative approaches, valuable insights both researchers clinicians.

Cyclodextrins (CDs) are ubiquitous excipients, constituted of cyclic glucopyranose units, and possess a unique dual nature, that hydrophobic interior hydrophilic exterior. This enables their interaction with lipid-affinitive compounds compounds, thereby augmenting application in pharmaceutical formulations as agents for improving solubility, well fundamental elements advanced drug delivery systems. Additionally, CDs, upon suitable modification, can strategically participate the cellular components physical barriers, such blood–brain barrier, where intricate multifunctional engagement leads to various biological impacts. review consolidates crucial features CDs derivatives, summarizes applications them systems neurodegenerative disorders, emphasizing notable potentials.
