The present study characterized the multi-drug and heavy metal-resistant bacteria their human health risks in six major urban rivers. bacterial strains were by molecular techniques based on 16 s rDNA gene sequence analysis, where most of isolates belong to Bacillus spp. Staphylococcus minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) different metals like chromium, lead, cadmium, cobalt, mercury, nickel ranged up 3000 mg/L. antibiotic susceptibility tests revealed that 69.23% resistant ceftriaxone, while 61.54% resilient cefotaxime, 53.85% ampicillin, 46.15% amoxicillin, 30.77% streptomycin, 15.38% azithromycin, chloramphenicol, 7.69% tetracycline, gentamycin, vancomycin. Interestingly, ciprofloxacin was found highly sensitive all study. multiple resistance (MHMR) index very high compared standard value 0.50. antibiotics (MAR) highest for cereus MKSMPbT1 (0.45), it lowest B. xiamenesis MKSMCrB1 pumilus MKSMNiT1 (0.09). results hemolytic assay almost identified are pathogenic nature. In essence, could pose significant environmental public concerns draw strict government attention.
