Heavy metals in the environment can have a detrimental impact on human health. This study successfully used new adsorbent material, specifically layered double hydroxide pillared with keggin polyoxometalate H4[α-PW12O40]•nH2O (Ca-Al/POM), to effectively remove cadmium (II) from aqueous solution. The Ca-Al/POM has been thoroughly analyzed using X-ray diffraction and FT-IR. findings showed an increase maximum adsorption capacity for when Ca-Al LDH intercalated POM. of equilibrium isotherms that removed fit Freundlich isotherm model. In addition, kinetics followed pseudo second-order

Abstract The surface of Philippine natural zeolites (PNZs) was modified using the surfactant hexadecyltrimethylammonium chloride (HDTMA-Cl) to improve its adsorption capacity sulfamethoxazole (SMX), a persistent organic pollutant and emerging contaminant. PNZs were with HDTMA based on their 100% 200% external cation exchange (ECEC) form monolayer bilayer HDTMA–modified (MHZ & BHZ). unmodified (UZs) surfactant–modified (SMNZs) characterized Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, Thermogravimetric Analysis-Derivative Thermogravimetry, Scanning Electron Microscopy Energy Dispersive x-ray X-Ray Diffraction confirm modification HDTMA. SMX UZ SMNZs fitted isotherm kinetic models. It determined that all showed high degree linearity relative Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin maximum MHZ BHZ calculated be 3.685 mg g −1 13.034 , respectively, exhibiting 1.6 times 5.5 more improved than UZ. Kinetic models SMNZ adhered pseudo-second order model. results this study highlight promising increased SMNZs.
