Abstract Heterogeneous photocatalysts based on polyoxovanadates with Keggin structure (POV) supported onto zeolite (NH 4 ZSM‐5) were developed. The amount of POV incorporated was varied from 5% to 30% wt. Catalysts characterized by N 2 adsorption–desorption isotherms, FT‐IR, XRD, DRS UV–vis, TGA, and 31 P MAS‐NMR techniques; the catalytic activity evaluated in azo dye degradation. specific surface area decreased as content increased because pore blocking. XRD patters presented characteristic peaks NH ZSM‐5 POV, no additional diffraction peaks, assigned a well dispersed POV. FT‐IR results confirm that [PVW 11 O 40 ] 4− anions remain unaltered after their inclusion zeolite. incorporation generated redshift at absorption border, determined which promotes its visible range. Moreover, while increase bandgap energy diminishes photocatalytic increased. higher photoactivity 80% discoloration when wt incorporated. characterization evaluation indicated these materials present suitable properties be used catalysts treatment wastewater, being main advantage easy separation reuse without significant decrease photoactivity.

The extracted ash from common water reeds locally available in Iraq was used as a cost-effective silica source for single-step synthesis of heterojunction photocatalyst (Ag2O@CRA) combining 9.75 % Ag2O and surface area 99.849 m2/g. Ag2O@CRA to investigate methylene blue (MB) degradation which eliminated at an initial MB concentration 20 mg/L, dose 0.1g/100 mL, pH 7 after 60 min visible light. This displayed excellent stability five cycles with more than 91 removal dye. ⦁OH the main radical involved degradation.
