This study investigated the electrochemical properties of supercapacitors by pre-modifying thick birch biochar monoliths with FeCl3 or C6H5FeO7 solutions prior to wood pyrolysis. The pre-modification introduced iron species surface, promoting specific surface area, charge-stored species, and functionalities, which enhanced gravimetric capacitance. X-ray diffraction confirmed successful loading Fe3O4 Fe. SEM implied wider distribution iron-rich particulates porous carbon via self-pyrolysis on modified 1.0 M C6H5FeO7. Contact angle measurements demonstrated wettability surfaces following pre-modification, C6H5FeO7-modified samples exhibiting superior compared other groups. capacitance supercapacitor was dramatically promoted reached 210 F/g 219 F/g, respectively, when 1.0M at a 5 mA/g current density. Compared FeCl3, had higher response peak capacitive behavior in CV analysis, better ion diffusion capacity, lower charge-transfer resistance EIS results. But, slight irreversible process electrode group led level retention. results using ferric solution pre-impregnation show how doping can improve behavior, providing feasible scheme for modification monolith.
