(PW11Zn-Cby)
(1-Cby·Br

1-cyclopropylmethyl-4,4′-bipyridinyl-1-ium
bromide;
1,1′-Bby·Br
1,1′-bis(cyclopropylmethyl)-4,4′-bipyridine
bromide).
All
three
contain
PW11M
(M
Ni,
Cu,
Zn),
transition
metal
M-substituted
monosubstituted
Keggin-type
structure.
These
can
exhibit
variety
excellent
properties
to
stimulate
discoloration
in
light,
heat,
electricity.
Moreover,
PW11Cu-BCby
PW11Zn-Cby
be
applied
inkless
erasable
printing
dual
anticounterfeiting
applications
based
on
their
photochromic
behaviors.

Abstract
A
novel
metal‐organic
frameworks
(MOF)
material,
namely
{Zn

(bpybc)(imdc)
2
·H
O)}
n
(
1
),
(bpybc
2−
=
1,1′‐bis(4‐carboxyphenyl)‐4,4′
‐bipyridinium
cation,
imdc
3−
4,5‐imidazole‐dicarboxylic
acid
anion)
has
been
successfully
synthesized
under
solvothermal
conditions.
The
synthesis
utilized
H
bpybc·2Cl,
and
Zn(NO
)
·6H
O
as
the
raw
materials.
Complex
not
only
exhibits
reversible
photochromic
behavior
but
also
features
photocontrolled
luminescence
properties.
Notably,
complex
shows
sensing
ability
of
Cr
7
.
It
capability
to
selectively
detect
ammonia
vapor,
undergoing
a
color
change
from
orange
tan
in
response
vapors,
thereby
exhibiting
certain
properties
for
vapor.
