Cryptocurrency is rapidly emerging as a prominent player in the global financial system, characterized by its decentralized nature and absence of centralized government oversight. However, this autonomy raises significant environmental concerns primarily stemming from energy-intensive mining process. Crypto mining, central to creation new coins transaction validation, results substantial carbon emissions energy consumption. This study employs bibliometric analysis using RStudio scrutinize data sourced Scopus database. Data selection adhered specific inclusion criteria, focusing on research articles documents English language. Exclusion criteria targeted elimination review papers, conference reviews, short surveys, notes, languages other than English. China emerges foremost contributor with frequency 348 total citation count 1259, followed USA 594 citations. Notably, keywords "blockchain" "bitcoin" surface most frequently, occurring 293 148 times, respectively. The posits that China's decision ban cryptocurrency due economic has likely contributed heightened awareness cryptocurrencies. In contrast, actively embraced cryptocurrencies, fostering their widespread circulation. Consequently, these two countries have emerged leading contributors consumption sector.
