Bu çalışmanın konusu Sultan Sencer’in 1118 yılında tahta çıkmasından sonra Horasan bölgesinde ve Büyük Selçuklu Devleti’nin doğu bölgelerinde meydana gelen iç dış gelişmeler üzerinde durulmuştur. Çalışmada Devleti’nde çatışmalar taht kavgalarının yanında özellikle Abbasi Halifeliği, Gazneliler, Karahitaylar diğer meselelerle ilgili Oğuzlar tarafından esir alınıncaya kadarki mücadeleleri faaliyetleri ele alınmıştır. son hükümdarı olması hasebiyle Türk tarihinde önemli bir yere sahip yine Devleti için kader belirleyici rol üstlenmesi, işlenen dönemin önemini arttırmaktadır.
