In recent years, Jiangsu Province has increasingly prioritized the coordinated regional development of innovation. Unicorn and gazelle companies, characterized by technological or business model innovation, serve as significant indicators innovation capacity. Therefore, this study uses unicorn companies recognized between 2020 2022 in samples, employing ArcGIS geographical detectors to investigate spatial distribution characteristics influencing factors these propose optimization strategies, with aim assessing landscape Province. The key findings conclusions are follows: (1) over past three average nearest-neighbor distance decreased from 10.491 km 1.706 km, indicating a agglomeration; peak core density clusters increased substantially, reflecting growth number clustering deepened. Amidst the mounting global challenges associated with climate change and resource depletion, achieving sustainable development is paramount. Focusing on cities as vital scenarios for pursuing sustainability, this research measured urban sustainability identified its obstacles.
