Labor force mobility plays a crucial role in achieving balanced regional development China. This study investigates whether urban internet can effectively attract labor inflow using data from the China Labor-force Dynamic Survey (CLDS) and constructing comprehensive index through factor analysis. Employing conditional logit model addressing potential endogeneity instrumental variables, we find that (1) significantly attracts inflow, with one-unit increase raising log odds of individual city choice by 0.2, this effect remains robust across multiple specifications estimation methods; (2) attraction shows significant heterogeneity—it is stronger among highly educated, younger, foreign language proficient, unmarried individuals, more pronounced regions lower housing costs, income levels, inland locations. These findings suggest less-developed cities should prioritize infrastructure to accumulate high-quality resources achieve economic development, while also enhancing support for bottom-tier workers public-benefit online platforms.

Using panel data from 31 Chinese provinces between 2000 2021, this paper employs a dual machine learning model causal inference to analyze impact financial inclusion on intensity, its underlying mechanisms, characteristics heterogeneity. study finds that inclusive finance significantly reduces intensity through two main channels: enhancing scientific technological innovation narrowing urban-rural income gap. Additionally, expansion arable land management acceleration economic structural transformation positively moderate these effects. These conclusions remain robust after series robustness tests. Further combining factors such as resource endowment, geographic location, concentration, food production areas in heterogeneity test, found regional differences influence effect intensity. Therefore, it essential enhance development finance, break down barriers promote synergistic development, actively support large-scale operations, strengthen innovation, narrow gap China’s green transformation.
