Introduction China is the largest emitter of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) in world, with its power industry being primary source these emissions. The high emission levels are primarily attributed to extensive consumption fossil resources during thermal generation. Developing clean energy generation replace one main strategies mitigate level emissions and thus promoting low-carbon transition. Method To explore relationship between China’s development electricity from power, this paper conducts an empirical study using provincial data 2008 2021, while employing fixed-effects models, mediation effect tests, heterogeneity tests. Results discussion results indicate that increase reduces CO exhibits a trend diminishing eastern economic zone western China. In regions higher urbanization, has more significant on mitigating whereas upgrading industrial structure central contributes decreasing power. Research (R&D) investment plays mediating role helps improve reduce Finally, policy implications proposed intensify R&D investment, promote crossregional cooperation sharing energy, implement differentiated policies, establish sustainable monitoring evaluation system.

Traditional centralized energy grids struggle to meet urban areas’ increasingly complex demands, necessitating the development of more sustainable and resilient solutions. Smart microgrids offer a decentralized approach that enhances efficiency, facilitates integration renewable sources, improves resilience. This study follows systematic review approach, analyzing literature published in peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings, industry reports between 2011 2025. The research draws from academic publications institutions alongside regulatory reports, examining actual smart microgrid deployments San Diego, Barcelona, Seoul. Additionally, this article provides real-world case studies New York London, showcasing successful unsuccessful deployments. Brooklyn Microgrid demonstrates peer-to-peer trading, while London faces regulations funding challenges its systems. paper also explores economic policy frameworks such as public–private partnerships (PPPs), localized markets, standardized models enable adoption at scale. While PPPs provide financial infrastructural support for deployment, they introduce stakeholder alignment compliance complexities. Countries like Germany India have successfully used development, leveraging low-interest loans, government incentives, mechanisms encourage innovation technologies. In addition, examines new trends utilization AI quantum computing optimize energy, climate design before outlining future agenda focused on cybersecurity, decarbonization, inclusion technology. Contributions include modular scalable framework, innovative hybrid storage systems, performance-based model suited environment. These contributions help fill gap what is possible today needed systems create foundation cities next century.

The integration of renewable energy systems (RES) into microgrids faces challenges from technical, economic, and socio-environmental perspectives. Despite their potential to address access climate change challenges, RES-based face significant barriers, including technical complexities, economic constraints, socio-cultural resistance, regulatory inadequacies, environmental concerns. Some the issues, like intermittency lack compatibility with other sources, are managed by management (EMS) integrated battery systems. These barriers include high capital investment unpredictable revenue which addressable through chosen microgrid architecture, flexible payment structures, tariffs. Community opposition local knowledge overcome employing mitigation measures that pertain partaking in planning processes developing training programs. gaps addressed use standardized policy as well streamlined permitting procedures, while issues application life cycle assessment (LCA)-based solutions environmentally sustainable materials. Furthermore, paper addresses more recent developments, artificial intelligence (AI), peer-to-peer (P2P) trading, an emphasis on improvement prospects. Finally, implications presented, stressing need for systemic observed tendencies. This systematically reviews multifaceted integrating RES microgrids. It presents innovative solutions, AI-driven management, modular designs, frameworks enhance efficiency, reliability, sustainability a scalable transition. review provides diverse view future growth several insights stakeholders related development technology making transition sustainable.

This paper investigates strategies to address climate change by promoting sustainable energy technologies and consumption practices. It examines renewable sources such as solar, wind, geothermal their potential reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The study also explores optimization techniques, focusing on genetic algorithms (GAs) smart systems like grids microgrids, which enhance efficiency sustainability. research highlights the role of circular economy in fostering through recycling waste management. Furthermore, economic trade-offs between environmental harm, impact both fossil fuel energies. A dual methodological approach is employed: first, an endogenous growth model excluding factors, followed a modified version incorporating considerations. Using continuous algorithm data from 2000 2025, forecasts optimal trajectory for energy’s share global under two scenarios. findings suggest that could represent 82.4% total constraints, up current 45%. hindered challenges droughts, hydropower production. concludes achieving transition requires comprehensive policies integrating expansion, efficiency, protection. These provide important insights into optimizing pathways They serve foundation future policy recommendations, aiming ensure low emission balancing need with preservation environment.
