Quantifying above ground biomass (AGB) and its spatial distribution can significantly contribute to monitor carbon stocks as well the storage dynamics in forests. For effective forest monitoring management case of complex tropical Indian forests, there is a need obtain reliable estimates amount sequestration at regional national levels, but estimation quite challenging. The main objective study validate usefulness gridded density (AGBD) (ton/ha) spaceborne LiDAR Global Ecosystem Dynamics Investigation data (GEDI L4B, Version 2) across two heterogeneous forests India, Betul Mudumalai Methodology includes, for each area, linear regression model which predicts AGB from Sentinel-2 MSI was developed using reference comparing it with GEDI AGBD values. Abstract The Anthropocene witnessed the landscape spread of several invasive alien plants which can remarkably influence ecosystem services and environmental sustainability. To this end, Chromolaena odorata (Asteraceae) is widely identified among top hundred pervasive invaders in view its adverse on environment, agriculture, wildlife. effects C. further be exacerbated under event invasion interaction with other anthropogenic stressors such as climate change. Abstract Praxelis clematidea is a relatively unknown herb native to South America that has spread globally over the past four decades. In this study, we integrate ecological niche modelling (ENM) and shift analyses understand its distribution, test conservatism hypotheses, identify potential invasion sites under different climate change scenarios. range, P. prefers climates with mild annual temperatures winters. This species shows great continue spreading. Probable include northern America, Central India, Southeast Asia, Africa. Future projections suggest increase of distribution in tropical regions decrease temperate areas. Niche was evident, although invaded areas Asia Australia showed slight expansion towards warmer climates, probably explained by factors such as competition. Our results show integrating occurrences from both ranges ENM models enhances predictability, even when conserved. The combination studies provides better insight into dynamics, resulting recognition high-risk combined rapid access new provided citizen science platforms can result early detection lead management strategies.

Invasion by Lantana camara represent a major threat for biodiversity and ecosystems functioning on global scale. In this study, we investigated the ecological impact of invasion in natural forests Mizoram. The sampling plots were implemented within six sites spread across state along altitudinal gradient. addition to associated floristic inventory, gathered socio-economic utilization data. results revealed that cause adverse effects where it may result into suppression various native plant species invaded communities. phytosociological assessment from total 74 belonging 68 genera 30 families. Herbs dominant habit (60%) followed shrubs (26.67%) climbers (13.33%). most family was represented Asteraceae with 18 16 genera. general diversity, density, richness importance value index reduced camara. Hence, based present study areas, forest management activities be sustainable control measures eliminate invasive This recommends imperative nature effective management, particularly during initial stages invasion.
