This paper investigates different enterprise types as potential agents of transformative change in the woodprocessing industry.To do so, it combines concept with recent accounts agency evolutionary economic geography.We examine small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) wood-processing industry because by using a renewable resource that stores CO 2 has to replace polluting materials, they could become frontrunners sustainability transformations through wood-based bioeconomy.Empirically, we draw on qualitative case study 24 SMEs Canton Bern, Switzerland.Based enterprise, identify five types: silent ecologists, social pioneers, visionary nonconformists, ambitious entrepreneurs, pragmatist traditionalists.The first four show many characteristics indicating firm-level while only entrepreneurs seem capable inducing changes at system-level.This is due several limits agency, which also illuminate.Overall, our sheds light heterogeneity firms context transformation.

Although the importance of forestry has been widely recognized, research on impact innovation ecosystems green economic development is still in its infancy, and existing limited. This paper focuses 31 provinces China conducts an empirical analysis using data from 2012 to 2021. It provides insights how affect growth, thus addressing gap research. The findings are as follows: (1) Forestry have a significant positive effect total factor productivity. (2) Mechanism reveals technical efficiency index, but no progress.
