Identifying the individual and combined hydrological response of land use landscape pattern climate changes is key to effectively managing ecohydrological balance regions. However, their nonlinearity, effect size, multiple causalities limit causal investigations. Therefore, this study aimed establish a comprehensive methodological framework quantify in climate, evaluate trends streamflow response, analyze attribution events five basins Beijing from past future. Future projections were based on three general circulation models (GCMs) under two shared socioeconomic pathways (SSPs). Additionally, 2035 natural development scenario was simulated by patch-generating simulation (PLUS). The Soil Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) applied spatial temporal dynamics over period 2005-2035 with scenarios. A bootstrapping nonlinear regression analysis boosted tree (BRT) model used streamflow, respectively. results indicated that future, overall basin would decrease, slightly reduced peak most summer significant increase autumn winter. quadratic more explained impact streamflow. change depended where relationship curve relation threshold. In addition, impacts not isolated but joint. They presented nonlinear, non-uniform, coupled relationship. Except for YongDing River Basin, annual influenced pattern. dominant factors critical pair interactions varied basin. Our findings have implications city planners managers optimizing functions promoting sustainable development.

Food and water security are crucial for sustainable development in arid regions. However, land use/cover change often leads to trade-offs between grain yield water-related ecosystem services (ESs), threatening food security. Therefore, how optimize ecological restoration patterns ensure ESs is an important issue This study evaluated the changes yield, (WY), purification (WP) from 2000 2020 Bosten Lake region, China. Then, planting vegetation (PV) scenarios on different slopes riparian buffer (RVB) with widths were established reveal effects of rules ESs. Finally, optimal scenario was determined based ES efficiency trade-offs/synergies. The results showed that increased (23.83 %) at expense WP WY (− 14.76 % − 0.57 2020. agricultural further reduced 7.99 %). Grain decreased under PV scenarios. RVB had potential improve ESs, guarantee eliminate trade-offs. effect forest greater than grassland restoration, With increase zone, nonlinearly, nonlinearly. grass achieved higher less WY, 200 m wide being best scenario. benefits varied type, location, scale restoration. proposed a framework determine pattern. can provide scientific reference resource management decision-making

The scientific assessment of ecosystem service value (ESV) and landscape ecological risk (LER) is important for security sustainable development. However, existing studies often separate ESV LER a single evaluation, the evaluation limited in guiding conservation. Therefore, proposing an framework that integrates urgent. Taking Nanjing City as example, this study evaluated based on cell introduced it into evaluation. Then, influence land use/land cover change from 2000 to 2020 was analyzed. results showed built-up water body/wetland increased by 881.96 km2 41.41 km2, farmland forest decreased 875.46 55.83 2020. low middle high north south.
