Abstract In the context of climate change and sustainable development, there has been numerous researches studying influence land use policies on carbon sequestration. However, most them focus specific experimental area to explore impact fixation, or their impacts a certain aspect, lacking comprehensive explanation both internal mechanism external effects. Therefore, this article presents review results show that scientific have capacity increasing net sinks soil organic realize environmental sustainability. addition, these low‐carbon can not only bring out mitigation influence, but also effects cities food security, ecological protection, economic disparities promote development. if fail adapt local natural socio‐economic conditions, overlook potential negative they could pose, cannot facilitate achievement development even impede progress.

A growing world population means more food that needs to be provided. This in turn forces agriculture increase production and thereby emit greenhouse gases (GHG). study reveals there is a worldwide decrease climate environmental unit costs of producing agricultural raw materials, understood this article as the relationship between volume amount GHG emitted. In least developed countries (LDCs), land productivity was significantly lower over period 1961–2018 compared rest world. The reasons included adverse natural conditions capital shortages. Average consumption also lower, increased accompanied by population. contrast, were higher. differences dynamics phenomena are related its costs, both LDCs globally, reveal key solving conflict need necessity protection mainly modernisation providing it with appropriate technical equipment techniques such way satisfy most important irreducible nutritional purpose while minimising costs.

Abstract Reed wetlands in Weishan County, Shandong provinces, are typical and representative wetland ecosystems with exceptional carbon sequestration potential. Evaluating the spatial temporal characteristics of land use stock these reed wetlands, exploring their sink value is crucial for climate change mitigation adaptation, provides a potential to as solution neutrality China. Using Sentinel active passive remote sensing data within Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform, we employed random forest classification method identify features County. By combining density obtained from bibliometric sources InVEST model, evaluated dynamics well other types. The results indicated that optical more effective than radar classification, achieving mean overall accuracy 89%. contribute significantly stock, accounting 28% total Other major contributors include forest, water body, agricultural land, artificial unused mudflat land. highest concentration found along shores four lakes northeastern mountainous areas capacity County expected generate 4.95–54 × 10 8 RMB, up 1%–12% county’s GDP. These findings provide scientific foundation subsequent restoration management efforts offer valuable insights developing relevant strategies.

Estimating above-ground biomass (AGB) is important for ecological assessment, carbon stock evaluation, and forest management. This research assesses the performance of machine learning algorithms XGBoost, SVM, RF using data from Sentinel-2 Landsat-9 satellites. The study influence significant spectral bands vegetation indices on accuracy AGB estimate. results presented in paper indicate that were more effective than data. mainly because it had higher spatial resolution, which enabled model gradients structural attributes accurately. XGBoost performed best with an R 2 0.82 RMSE 0.73 Mg/ha 0.80 0.71 Landsat-9. In current study, SVM also showed a substantial 0.79 0.76 For Sentinel-2, random achieved 0.74 0.93 Mg/ha, Landsat 9 yielded 0.72 0.88 Mg/ha. Thus, variable importance analysis, have predicting AGB. As expected their application research, these predictors consistently emerged as highly across models datasets. demonstrates potential integrating remote sensing to achieve accurate efficient assessment.

Net ecosystem productivity (NEP) serves as a pivotal metric for quantitatively elucidating the carbon sink function of terrestrial ecosystems. As prototype county development an ecological civilization in China, quantitative estimation ecotypic county's capacity holds immense significance comprehending cycle and facilitating sustainable advancement regional This study undertook NEP Wuning County from 2000 to 2020, employing fusion multi-source remote sensing data, Spatial Temporal Adaptive Reflectance Fusion Model (STARFM), improved Carnegie-Ames-Stanford Approach model, soil respiration model. Furthermore, we delved into differences across various types land cover. In addition, employed Theil-Sen Median trend analysis Mann-Kendall test discern spatio-temporal trends NEP. The findings indicated following: (1) downscaled NDVI generated by STARFM exhibited remarkable consistency with Landsat overall (R2 > 0.95, P < 0.01, 0 RMSE 0.1). (2) gross 2020 area ranged 542.78 720 Gg C, multi-year average 183.84 g C m−2 yr−1. simulated demonstrated higher accuracy when compared measured data = 0.79, 0.01). (3) spatial pattern characterized lower values central north south. Approximately 89.60 % total increase NEP, woodland acting primary contributor, while 4.50 displayed decreasing trend, predominantly due expansion built-up land. (4) Notable variations existed among different terms vegetation types, annual ranked follows: grassland cropland. application has provided valuable insights methodology precise delineation dynamics at scale. outcomes this have furnished support implementing climate change mitigation strategies ecologically-oriented counties bottom-up promotion China's peaking neutrality goals.

Abstract This research article presents an investigation conducted through a numerical model to analyze the influence of various operational parameters on performance solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). The studied include operating temperature, current density, pressure, steam‐to‐carbon ratio, and utilization. electrochemical employed Butler‐Volmer equation, Fick's model, Ohm's law calculate concentration, activation, ohmic losses. primary focus was evaluating generated power electrical efficiency as metrics. study revealed that increasing temperature pressure resulted in higher generation specific optimum points were identified for optimal SOFC operation. Notably, highest 812 kW, achieved at 950 K density 18100 A/m 2 . Additionally, decreasing utilization factor 55% 15250 led output 706 kW. Similarly, 17150 400 kPa, cell about 780 kW power. Furthermore, demonstrated reducing ratio increased generation, with 704 16000 low ratio. this point also showcased improved cell. Overall, underscores significance factors significantly impact performance. By comprehending these parameters, it becomes possible enhance across applications.

In the context of China’s commitment to “double carbon” goal, promoting agricultural carbon emission reduction is currently an important research topic. Assessing sequestration level crops has a positive impact on enhancing sinks and reducing emissions. The budget for planting arid oasis Jinchang, northwest China, quantitatively calculated from 2018 2020. average value total absorption by in Jinchang was greater than emissions past three years. 2020, highest (1,744,725 t CO2-eq), 102,641 CO2-eq. had strong function. Among investigated crops, largest annual found corn, which accounted 45% city. pathways, chemical fertilizer film were main sources, accounting more 40% analysis region clearly showed that structure cropping area proportion significantly affected balance whole increasing planted with corn beneficial regional sequestration.
