Abstract Identifying and quantifying the main factors that are jeopardizing amphibian communities worldwide is essential for planning effective conservation. Amphibians are vital components of global biodiversity and fulfil diverse ecological roles, including insect population control serving as environmental health indicators. However, there is a concerning decline in amphibian populations globally due to factors such habitat loss, climate change, emerging diseases. Concurrently, the issue microplastic pollution has gained prominence because its potential harm aquatic ecosystems. Microplastics, derived from various sources, endanger organisms, especially amphibians during their sensitive larval stages. In this study, we examined prevalence stages 10 species, covering both tailed (Urodela) tailless (Anura) amphibians. We observed significant correlation between species identity, extent artificial land cover, degree contamination larvae. Notably, our results indicate interspecific differences bioaccumulation. Furthermore, research first demonstrate positive larvae anthropogenic pressure. Our findings add expanding literature underscoring intricate interplay human activities ecosystem health.

North Sweden ('Norrland' in Swedish) covers 243 000 km2 and lies mainly the boreal biome. The herpetofauna comprises five amphibian four reptile species: Lissotriton vulgaris, Triturus cristatus, Bufo bufo, Rana temporaria, arvalis, Zootoca vivipara, Anguis fragilis, Natrix natrix, Vipera berus. Successful conservation management of amphibians reptiles depend on accurate information about distribution, habitat affinities, abundance. Such knowledge is also essential as a benchmark to assess changes distribution abundance that may come result climate change human alteration. This paper aims present maps, describe provide estimates for period 1970-2022. Distribution data are presented by traditional faunistic provinces, well biotic regions alpine life zones. Separate sections address post-glacial colonization herpetological perspective anthropogenic relation species´ status. berus widely distributed throughout sub-regions. extend into region. natrix occur coastal parts Southern Boreal There no signs recent range, but arvalis have been largely overlooked past much wider occurrence than previously recognized. Most species found habitats usually not described all-European field guides. Nearly all anurans hibernate water. Abundance suggest some more common thought, supporting notion large share their total European population occurs there. Although local extinctions declines known, there widespread decline any during study period.

Amphibians are small cold blooded tetra pods containing frogs, toads, caecilians and salamanders. There over 8,500 species of amphibians known all the world nearly 447 from India inhabiting water habitats. The International Union for Conservation Nature (IUCN)'s Red List threatened estimates that at least one-third amphibian with extinction, a rate much higher than other vertebrate groups like birds mammals. Amphibian population decline represent leading example biodiversity crisis as they continuously disappearing their habitats on global scale. Factors responsible numerous complex likes habitat destruction, alien invasive, exploitation, climate change, infectious diseases chemical contamination. crucial component ecosystem so conservation becomes need hour. priority should include monitoring environment sensing, reservation wetlands, reservoirs, ponds, restoration management, minimizing use pesticides, captive breeding program endangered also awareness among local people about importance frogs toads.
