Under the interaction between natural ecosystems and human interferences, farmland extends to multi-functions such as production, ecological, social, cultural functions. Despite exponential increase in research on multi-functional evaluation of recent years, little study has been conducted at fine spatial long-time scales. Furthermore, existing quantitative analyses multifunctional synergies trade-offs mainly consider static patterns neglect dynamic information. Selecting Chinese coastal province Zhejiang area, this thus evaluated spatio-temporal functions from 2000 2020 county scale introduced trade-off/synergy degree (TSD) model quantify intensity relationships among The results showed that functional values their were significantly heterogeneous temporal distribution. In addition social function, other all exhibited an increasing trend. strong correlations observed ecological Ultimately, five zones determined by k-means clustering algorithm considering both relationships, targeted suggestions applicable each zone put forward study. This contributes utilization planning its surrounding land, especially improvement policy returning forests.

With the development of human society, cultivated land resources' utilization has become more diversified, and multifunction is critical to meet demand. However, studies on are mostly based data single time node or discontinuous years, which results may be influenced by abnormal function years. To assess its trade-off/synergy relationships accurately objectively, this study uses continuous long series analyze multifunctionality land. Firstly, Long short-term memory (LSTM) method was applied predict 2021–2030 from 2010 2020. Then, Theil-Sen Median used spatiotemporal evolution trends 2030. Secondly, trends, degree (LCFTD) constructed explore stable among functions. Finally, resources were divided into zones spectral clustering. This analyzed in Guangdong (1) The had spatially heterogeneous temporally fluctuating. (2) production-ecological, ecological-life, production-life functions all dominated synergy during 2010–2020. Without changing current state resource, trade-off will increase future (2021–2030). (3) five type zones: development, production core, ecological conservation, comprehensive lifting, fallow renewal. LCFTD can better avoid influence also trend reliably. idea help formulate management policies achieve goal sustainable resources.

The industrialization of resource-based cities exerts a profound influence on their land system. use functions (LUFS), are concealed representation this system, can highlight issues in human-land relations. To address these challenges, we have developed bottom-up approach for constructing an LFUS evaluation system tailored to cities. This assesses the evolution LUFS, its trade-offs, and synergies grid scale, with applications resource-depleted city Xintai. research findings indicate following:(1) From 1985 2021, LFUS, including production function (PF) living (LF), showed generally increasing trend. Ecological (EF), however, fluctuated, initially decreasing, then increasing, subsequently decreasing again. (2) During period, trade-off relationship between PF LF strengthened from 1996, weakened 2011, PF-EF weak 1985, transitioned synergy 1996 reverted 2021. (3) relationships among LUFS elements mechanisms formation LUFS. Conflicts cultivated construction primarily contributed LF. Meanwhile, conflicts ecological led EF, EF. study presents indicator provides valuable insights decision-making, addressing sustainability needs transitioning

As the indispensable basic resource of agricultural production, cultivated land has always carried important mission maintaining food stability, promoting rural economic development, and ecological balance. However, in application, there is often a conflict between multiple functions limited ability to perform functions. Therefore, this paper uses hot spot analysis, IUEMS model, InVEST Pearson correlation coefficients self-organizing feature maps (SOFMs) explore multifunctional trade-offs synergistic relationships Hexi Corridor at grid scale zoning optimization scheme. The results revealed that from 2000 2020, production social security maintained high level continued rise, spots exhibited stable pattern “central southeast concentration”. function performance relatively weak, are concentrated mainly southeast, whereas landscape view recreational as whole show trend gradual recovery after weakening. In terms mutual relationships, significant synergies functions, other complex changeable. Production coordinated spatial distribution pattern. Production, security, dominated by trade-offs. recreation space. Through map divided into four functional areas: production-dominant areas, agriculture balanced development management objectives proposed. This study can provide useful lessons references for use planning similar areas.

Revealing the multidimensional value and spatial distribution of cultivated land (CL) resources is crucial for formulating scientific reasonable CL protection policies regional ecological supplements. This study takes Pearl River–Xijiang Economic Belt (PRXJEB), China, as area, calculates economic, social, ecological, comprehensive values based on county scale, analyzes characteristics influencing factors resource so to provide a reference protecting in PRXJEB promoting healthy development economic belt. The income reduction method, alternative market equivalent factor method were applied calculate 88 counties 2021, respectively. Furthermore, autocorrelation analysis was employed reveal their factors. results show that (1) there are significant differences PRXJEB, generally low. (2) follows pattern “higher east lower west”. (3) mainly affected by natural conditions level socio-economic development. Therefore, view low its differentiation it recommended strengthen consolidation improve quality CL, infrastructure introduction agricultural science technology, enhance benefit farmers, adjust farmers’ behaviour.

The cultivated land in the black soil of Northeast China (BSNC), due to long-term high-input and high-output utilization, is facing a series challenges such as erosion, compaction, nutrient loss. However, existing quality evaluation (CLQE) lacks regional specificity, making it difficult accurately reflect (CLQ) characteristics across different areas. Therefore, this study proposes comprehensive framework that integrates both functionality degradation risk, establishing an assessment system consisting 18 indicators comprehensively evaluate CLQ BSNC from multiple perspectives. results indicate exhibits declining trend north south, with second- third-grade dominating, accounting for 75.68% total area. overall increases west east, Liaohe Plain Region (LHP) performing best. Low-risk primarily concentrated Songnen (SNP) Western Sandy (WS), covering 38.55% Additionally, finds trade-off between primary productivity function resource utilization efficiency regions, while synergistic relationship observed maintenance functions. This research emphasizes necessity balancing ecological protection achieve sustainable efficient use BSNC.
