The urban heat island (UHI) poses a serious threat to public health. Land Surface Temperature (LST), is critical indicator for quantifying UHI intensity. However, the study focusing on relationship between morphology and LST in historical areas remains challenge. Taking historic area of Guangzhou as an example, this selected seven indicators, combined with Local Climate Zones (LCZs) theory, used hierarchical clustering method explore classification block area. Moreover, multiple linear regression (MLR), geographical detector, multiscale geographically weighted (MGWR) methods were employed reveal impact LST. main findings are follows: 1) exhibited significant spatial characteristics (Moran’s I = 0.39). 2) There eight types area, 96% dominated by building coverage. 3) High-density low-rise (LCZ3) showed most substantial LST, followed medium-density (LCZ3-II) high-density mid-rise (LCZ2). 4) Building density (BD) greatest overall From interactional perspective, height (BH) notably pronounced effect. influence indicators demonstrated notable heterogeneity, local variations impacts BD BH being more pronounced.

The thermal environment effect poses great threats to the sustainable development of cities. It is crucial identify priority areas for optimizing urban as a strategy mitigate this effectively. We developed comprehensive framework metrics evaluate community-scale outdoor comfort and built characteristics. This includes universal climate index green space morphology, utilizing large dataset meteorological data. Subsequent spatial econometric analysis pinpointed that have significant impact on comfort. Additionally, we applied methods supply–demand matching division determine key with imbalances areas. results showed substantial variability in among different community units old city Fuzhou, China. Seven building coverage ratio, patch density, shape index, etc. significantly influenced Among four identified relationships between comfort, 97 were categorized mismatch, 45 these highest priority. study provides scientific foundation devising more focused strategies optimize environment.

In recent years, the conflict between human activities and natural environment has led to global warming emergence of extreme weather events, prompting reflection on climate adaptability buildings.Historical cultural districts often reflect design construction strategies their era, which were shaped by prevailing social environments conditions, so they typically embody techniques tailored address local climatic characteristics.Consequently, in this paper, we focus 33 historic within Beijing's old city, along with seven proposed districts, retrieve land surface temperatures (LST) using Landsat remote sensing data radiative transfer equations.A spatiotemporal analysis was conducted investigate variations LST distribution across different characterize internal temperature features city.Research indicates following: (1) The Dashilan area boasts highest average LST, while Huangcheng records lowest.(2) Over past six most have experienced a decline LST.Notably, significant reductions been observed areas west Xinjiekou, Dongsi South, from 3 rd 8 th Street Dongsi.(3) Within hot spots are primarily concentrated residential one-story traditional houses, cold predominantly found around water, relics, modern architectural structures.

Understanding the driving mechanisms behind surface urban heat island (SUHI) effects is essential for mitigating degradation of thermal environments and enhancing livability. However, previous studies have primarily concentrated on central areas, lacking a comprehensive analysis entire metropolitan area over distinct time periods. Additionally, most relied regression models such as ordinary least squares (OLS) or logistic regression, without adequately analyzing spatial heterogeneity factors influencing effects. Therefore, this study aims to explore in Guangzhou-Foshan across different The Local Climate Zones (LCZs) method was employed analyze landscape characteristics structure metropolis years 2013, 2018, 2023. Furthermore, Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR), Multi-scale (MGWR), Geographical Detector (GD) were utilized investigate interactions between (land cover factors, environmental socio-economic factors) Surface Urban Heat Island Intensity (SUHII), maximizing explanation SUHII all Three main findings emerged: First, exhibited significant heterogeneity, with non-linear relationship SUHII. Second, SUHI displayed core-periphery pattern, Large lowrise (LCZ 8) compact 3) areas showing highest levels core zones. Third, land emerged influential metropolis. These results indicate that exhibit notable varying negative can be leveraged mitigate locations. Such offer crucial insights future policy-making.
