Understanding the spatiotemporal changes in ecosystem service value (ESV) under urbanization, as well supply–demand relationship between different regions, can provide a consultation for ecological compensation (EC) standards. Taking Suzhou, typical city experiencing rapid urbanization Yangtze River Delta, case study, this paper analyzes land use and ESV from 2000 to 2020. To quantify flow (ESF), we apply breakpoint formula field strength model. Additionally, an EC standard is established, taking population, area GDP into account while specifying compensation. The findings reveal that has led substantial increase built-up accompanied by continuous reductions farmland water bodies. As result, decreased 153.07 billion CNY 138.81 CNY. Furthermore, research identifies spatial pattern where increases with distance center but decreases lake center. This suggests directional of lakes cities. Notably, ESF mainly occurs southwestern central areas closer Taihu Lake greater transfer. transfer ranges 5.11 32.57 There imbalance supply demand services. Therefore, specific county-level cities namely, Kunshan District Industrial Park, emerge contributors should contribute 71.94 80.74 CNY, respectively, other By formulating novel policy provides scientifically informed reference promoting sustainable development.

Establishing a standard model for water resource ecological compensation, based on quantity and quality, is one of the current research hotspots in field economy. This paper calculates footprint from 2011 to 2021, constructs an inter-provincial compensation Yangtze River Basin, discusses horizontal ecology Basin. Firstly, method load index are used evaluate analyze overall utilization basin various administrative regions within basin; secondly, decoupling analysis study coordinated relationship between economic development among different regions; finally, identity subject object determined basis calculation surplus deficit resources each region, standards quantitatively calculated. The results indicate following: (1) Over 11 years, Basin its provinces has shown growth trend, with significant differences footprints regions, average exhibits decreasing distribution “midstream—downstream—upstream”. There provinces, showing trend being higher east lower west. (2) From perspective index, there been no state dis-coordination over 2016, 2018, 2019 high-quality state, while other years were primary state. (3) In terms payment Tibet, Yunnan, Qinghai have consistently receiving Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hubei, Hunan, Chongqing as subjects required make payments years.

Introduction: In order to improve ecological and environmental governance capacities, this study explores the creation efficacy of a horizontal carbon compensation, aiming enhance capabilities. The research addresses critical need for innovative solutions balance emissions preservation in river basins, with YRB serving as primary case study. Methods: Net were computed each province using data from 2013 2022, 13 differentiating between surplus deficit locations. An evolutionary game model that examined dynamic interactions under incentive punishment mechanisms was built these computations foundation. Important elements affecting compensatory process found. viability system demonstrated by use machine learning techniques forecast net 17 voluntary trade scenario. Results: findings show YRB’s emission management conservation may be greatly enhanced market-based incentives appropriate advice. revealed integrating penalty effectively promotes cooperation among provinces, leading management. Machine predictions further validated potential trading reduce emissions, highlighting practicality proposed compensation mechanism. Discussion: results offer theoretical framework implementation compensation. mechanism, founded on backed confirmation learning, offers novel approach protection. This study incorporated ecological footprint (EF) consumption into a framework to assess well-being. A model and implementation for characterizing regional net well-being were then developed. Using the Guanzhong Plain Urban Agglomeration (GPUA) as case study, land use data from 2000 2020 utilized calculate ecosystem service value (ESV), representing supply side of functions. Simultaneously, EF was assessed demand side. Taking account level economic development characteristics people’s living, evaluation constructed arrive at deficit or surplus situation. The results indicated that: (1) overall ESV GPUA follows trend initial growth followed by decline. Woodland, grassland, farmland are main contributors total ESV, with regulating supporting services accounting more than 80% value. (2) in shows significant upward trend, increasing over 70% on average. carrying capacity has slightly increased, biologically productive area that can support human activities expanding 1909.49 million hectares. Additionally, urban agglomeration cities tended stabilize since 2015. (3) Since 2010, anthropogenic continued exceed capacity, resulting an deficit. average compensation per hectare increased 35.588 CNY 187.110 CNY. offers theoretical foundation definition research providing accurate assessment multiple scales. It is expected this approach will help reduce opportunity costs associated protection, while promoting balanced preservation.

Cultural ecosystem services (CESs) reflect the interaction between ecosystems and human well-being. Owing to constraints in data availability existing methodological limitations, deriving information from non-material attributes was inadequate. We took Yulin City, located northern Shaanxi Loess Plateau, as a case study. Based on open-source geospatial user social media, coupled multi-source model applied elucidate spatial distribution of CESs’ supply–demand flow. The Maxent LDA were utilized quantify CES supply–demand, whereas breakpoint gravity explain direction intensity results indicated following: (1) aesthetic most perceivable Yulin, with 27% high supply areas four demand topics. And perception educational least pronounced, only 2% two (2) exhibited notable mismatching matching area constituting approximately 10%. In center city, CESs displayed pattern deficit, while farther city presented surplus. (3) flow followed movement peripheral counties central less developed more counties. proposed following targeted recommendations: introducing low-perception promote enhancement (ESs); alleviating mismatches by enhancing transportation accessibility protecting ecological environment. Simultaneously, attention should be directed towards developmental disparities counties, providing differentiated guidance for Our study provided theoretical foundation understanding offered scientific insights development urban CES.
