The Altai Mountains region, characterized by its unique biodiversity and significant ecological value, is increasingly under pressure from anthropogenic activities climate change. This study investigates the spatial temporal dynamics of forest grassland ecosystems in National Park Candidate Area 2000 to 2020, proposes a comprehensive framework for conservation management national parks. Through detailed analysis land cover changes, we observed expansion 13.65% degradation 11.69%. Rapid occurred before 2010, followed accelerated after that, with 2010 identified as critical turning point. Our highlights role key drivers, such soil type, elevation, cropland expansion, human activities, shaping these ecosystems. Using Geodetector propensity score matching methods, evaluated effectiveness existing protected areas mitigating loss. While effectively contributed restoration, they were less successful preventing decline, underscoring need integrated approaches. findings this provide insights into ecosystem effectiveness, offering valuable guidance establishment national-park-type broader regional efforts.

As economic development and urbanization continue to accelerate, the Yellow River Basin experiences increasing challenges in balancing land use with ecological environmental protection. Understanding their interactions is crucial for sustainable regional development. This study adopts an integrated evaluation system a coupling model examine dynamic between functions quality section of Henan Province, China, from 2000 2020. The primary findings are as follows: (1) Land improved 0.276 0.303, high-land-use-function areas expanding eastward. This study analyses the dynamics of green infrastructure (GI) in cities Bujumbura, Kinshasa, and Lubumbashi. A remote sensing approach, combined with landscape ecology metrics, characterized this analysis, which was based on three Landsat images acquired 2000, 2013, 2022 for each city. Spatial pattern indices reveal that GI suppressed Bujumbura contrast to Lubumbashi, exhibited fragmentation. Furthermore, values stability, aggregation, fractal dimension metrics suggest experienced rather intense a reduction continuity its GI, while Kinshasa showed weaker tendencies towards patch aggregation during period. In contrast, Lubumbashi strong within context significant anthropization. Ecosystem services, encompassing the provision of food, water, air purification, climate regulation, and disease mitigation, form bedrock upon which human well-being socio-economic development are anchored. The preservation these services is instrumental in safeguarding survival fostering progress. Qinghai Province, located on Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau, holds a pivotal role as crucial ecological barrier within China. optimization its ecosystem vital for effective management ecologically fragile areas. This study focuses Province. By integrating natural geographic, social, Points Interest (POI) big data, we utilized tools like InVEST, CASA, advanced algorithmic optimizations to analyze their trade-off synergies from 2000 2020. Based synergies, developed novel algorithm generate spatial bundles that amplify synergistic interactions while minimizing costs. Our findings indicate following: (1) Between 2020, recreational water yield, habitat quality Province generally exhibited an upward trend, whereas carbon sequestration showed decline; (2) Notable were evident between recreation quality. Conversely, significant trade-offs observed yield cultural with synergy effects varying markedly across different regions; (3) We constructed service characterized by “strong synergy–weak trade-off” based relationships. Following optimization, regions demonstrating expanded, those showing contracted, thereby adapting heterogeneity high-altitude advances sensitive zones through lens synergies. results offer scientific foundation formulating protection restoration strategies, providing valuable insights research other globally.
