Urban plant diversity is one of the key elements for sustainable urban development. landscapes not only create a variety experiences residents but also have positive effect on their physiology and psychology. In order to better introduce nature into green spaces, this study conducted field survey in Nanjing, China, analyze current situation spontaneous plants Nanjing’s spaces propose planning strategy that takes account both ecology residents’ well-being. This surveyed herbaceous resources 96 sample plots nine typical parks recorded 284 species 192 genera 78 families. The research results show differences diversity, richness, evenness among Nanjing are significant; combined with cluster analysis ranking results, total area parks, space construction time, lighting conditions, management frequency an impact communities. Further composition communities showed moderate can increase diversity. With advantages high ecological benefits low costs, model “artificial + native plants” was finally proposed planting spaces.

As an integral part of rural built heritage, the aesthetic and recreational values Historical Irrigation Canals (HICs) have increasingly garnered attention in recent years, providing new perspectives for heritage conservation sustainable development. However, there is a scarcity research conducted from micro-perspective public preferences HICs areas. The existing literature primarily focuses on how landscape characteristics natural urban rivers affect preferences, with lack to settings, which are uniquely inherent This study aims explore areas social backgrounds. Li Canal-Gaoyou District, one World Heritage Structures, was selected as case study. Selected HIC photos were utilized measuring conducting survey questionnaires. Relationships among characteristics, backgrounds, revealed through one-way ANOVA, Spearman’s correlation, stepwise regression analyses. Key findings include following: (1) can derive value HICs; (2) canals large water bodies, artificial banks, vegetation considered more aesthetically pleasing; (3) larger canals, extensive banks deemed suitable recreation; (4) factors such age, education level, income, living experience knowledge influence preferences; (5) costs people willing pay roads hardened banks. Finally, several recommendations protection management been summarized, offering guidance managers planners.

The study found NBS-related mostly focuses five aspects: Concept ideas, applied technology, implementation guidelines, performance evaluation platform building. Currently, emphasis is predominantly ideas in developed countries. While other three domains were also explored, they primarily adhere conventional methodologies content within context. covered many areas boasts an integrative, collaborative approach, it remained fragmented lacked cohesive system. On this basis, proposed systematic framework systematicity system, give full play unique advantages as comprehensive concept promote specific NBS. examined NBS's progression benefits, providing thorough insight into its significance development. introduced by elucidating foundational concepts guiding subsequent inquiries.
