Abstract Bat boxes are a key element in bat conservation policies being very popular. However, it is biased action that only favourable for few species. In this manuscript, we hypothesize the installation of these elements and an extensive proliferation them could threaten other species more vulnerable due to niche competition. For this, calculated overlapping degree between use those do not, specifically: 1) To determine favourability area through habitat suitability models Iberian Peninsula; 2) compare both groups; 3) elaborate optimal maps optimization algorithm; 4) discuss implications action. Our results showed users high (mean 51.8%) there areas where not user compete with at least 9 Therefore, be counterproductive, should focus on actions. We used algorithm find out recommendable install developed flowchart evaluate its area. conclusion, our study highlights actions some occasions negative or pitfall themselves, necessary effectiveness certain measures conservation.

The negative effects of human activity on wildlife populations in ecosystems must be addressed not only from an ecological perspective but also a social approach. One way is through studying the perception communities that have frequent interactions with wildlife. We conducted systematic literature review to understand Mexican rural and urban communities' perceptions wild mammals using web search engines. Of 321 studies found this topic, 77 met our criteria were therefore useful for analysis. presented data causes different states Mexico where carried out. positive was significantly associated use fauna, mainly environment, followed by importance both environments. In we did find significant association between these variables, tendency perceive fauna as dangerous. Mammal species mentioned articles reviewed classified size, their or perception. highest number mentions white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus), nine-banded armadillo (Dasypus novemcinctus), raccoon (Procyon lotor), paca (Cuniculus paca) collared peccary (Dicotyles tajacu). Species Coyote (Canis latrans), white-nosed coati (Nasua narica), Gray fox (Urocyon cinereoargenteus) long-tailed weasel (Mustela frenata). environments related uses, areas depends information acquired at school. These differences play fundamental role forming attitudes behaviors towards mammals. Because uses can influence conservation efforts, educational programs should highlight important within ecosystems.
