Introduction Over the past three decades, approximately 16% of world’s tidal flats have been lost. In Yellow River Delta (YRD), reduction in sediment supply due to decreased discharge has raised concerns regarding morphological stability flats. Methods To investigate response flat development reduced input, a novel physical model experiment was conducted using natural silt from YRD flat. Offshore concentration simulate supply. An Argus system deployed wave basin for first time capture changes during experiment. Results The results indicate that 94% suspended settles its transport offshore Suspended (SSC) subtidal zone increased flood tides and ebb tides. With decreasing SSC, comb-shaped flow marks formed along vertical shoreline intertidal zone, while dominated by sand waves. For given morphology patterns varied across different cross-shore profiles; conversely, profile, SSC levels led distinct characteristics. Discussion This study demonstrates significant influence on dynamics. findings suggest continued reductions could exacerbate erosion risks YRD, highlighting need management strategies preserve stability.

Terrain monitoring of intertidal beach is important to the coastline evolution research. Due complexity environment and dynamics terrain changes, in situ, real-time, long-term topography are big difficulties for existing observation methods. This article describes design field experimental research a situ system based on sensor array. The has two 20-m long flexible arrays containing 42 nodes can monitor changes an area with $10\times 10$ m simultaneously. optimal arrangement conditions deduced completely reconstruct changes. A calculation model change also proposed convert three-axis acceleration into vertical displacement To evaluate validate condition reconstruction model, experiment conducted Zhoushan Island. cumulative velocity silt zone tidal height waves observed obtained. results demonstrate feasibility stability under real-time conditions.
