Green tide blooms have occurred in the Southern Yellow Sea (SYS) for last 16 years. Current studies show that main source of green tides region is Subei Shoal. However, some scholars maintained germplasm Ulva may originate from adjacent sea area 2021. In present study, floating macroalgae and their micro-propagules, surface water were collected East China (ECS) waters near Changjiang River estuary December 2020, spatial temporal distribution characteristics winter analyzed, order to investigate whether they contributed SYS. No found ECS winter, there few micro-propagules water. Only one two U. prolifera individuals detected Qushan Island, Zhoushan City, respectively, did not belong type 5S-II prolifera. A phylogenetic tree-based comparison haplotype analysis carried out between cultured attached on Neoporphyra cultivation rafts, SYS (in 2020 2021). The results showed haplotypes significantly different latter two. does "seed bank" overwintering blooming This study provide a reference further research sources

Rapidly expanding industrialization and the depletion of non-renewable fossil fuels have necessitated discovery feasible renewable alternatives to meet rising energy demand while reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. The present global strategy is built on cost-effective environmentally friendly alternatives; production microalgae has ability these requirements. Microalgae been found as a promising sustainable alternative for treating wastewater (WW) concurrently with biofuel production. One potential strategy, which uses lowering level contamination in WW called bioremediation. There are substantial gains be made both economy environment through integration microalgae-based treatment (WWT). use that short life span, high growth rate, CO2 usage efficiency one approaches producing biomass from nutrients involves utilization resources. most resources thermochemical conversion processes liquid gaseous biofuels due their advantages over other feedstocks, such sustainability, renewability, productivity. Currently, technology cost primary obstacles limiting industrial applicability, necessitates an optimum downstream process minimize costs. Consequently, concurrent WWT challenges practical economically viable. This review provides overview bioremediation bioenergy applications. It also insight future research investigate additional possible applications microalgal biomass. These could include not only process, but generation revenues incorporation clean green technology, would provide long-term sustainability environmental benefits.

The Nanhui-east-tidal-flat (NETF), the largest marginal shoal in Yangtze River of China, is significantly impacted by human activities. Prior research has not detected presence green macroalgae NETF, nor it explored effects reclamation on distribution macroalgae. However, 2021, a small-scale aggregated attached algal mats emerged potentially signaling onset tide and necessitating vigilant monitoring. Morphological molecular biological identification analysis revealed that all collected were attributed to single dominant species, Ulva prolifera , characterized broad blades prominent air bladders, colonizing various substrates. U. exhibited continuous growth from March May peaking at wet weight 373.6229 g/m² dry 72.7904 1, within accessible sampling period. rapid proliferation “opportunistic” was facilitated high-level eutrophication favorable environmental conditions. Furthermore, six potential germplasm sources are summarized. dominance intertidal zone often indicates high deteriorating ecological With long-term repeated restoration projects, vegetation subjected vicious cycle destruction. Therefore, important recognize (macroalgae micropropagules) will persist over long term, mudflats with monotonous eutrophic habitats highly likely experience future large-scale blooms. Notably, floating observed sea area near NETF July 2023, such concerns unfounded. This study conducts foundational scientific algae, type relatively scarce other marine areas. Most studies tend initiate only after outbreak tides, lacking early background data environment, thus rendering this significant reference value. Concurrently, emphasizes field surveys remain an essential approach for conducting algae region, need select appropriate methods based occurrence development mats, as required situation. In recent years, various disasters have occurred frequently, such as harmful algal blooms (green tides red tides), storm surge disasters, wave sea ice tsunami disasters. Additionally, overpopulation certain organisms (particularly faunas) led threatening both ecosystems safety.
