This paper investigates the non-monetary motivations of farmers' adoption agri-environmental policies. Unlike monetary (income) motivations, drivers can not be directly observed but identified from observational data within appropriate quasi-experimental designs. A theoretical justification choices is first formulated and a consequent natural experiment setting derived. The latter admits heterogeneous, i.e. Individual, Treatment Effects (ITE) that, in turn, interpreted terms more targeted tailored policy expenditure. Causal Forest (CF) approach adopted to estimate these ITEs for both treated units. applied two balanced panel samples Italian Farm Accountancy Data Network (FADN) farms over 2008-2018 period concerns policies delivered through Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Results show how heterogeneous response associated be, thus indicating room efficient design.

Internal combustion engines (ICEs) have served as the primary powertrain for mobile sources since 1890s and also recognized significant contributors to CO2 emissions in transportation sector. In order achieve "carbon neutrality" sectors, ICE vehicles (ICEVs) are facing substantial challenges meeting regulations intense competition from battery electric fuel cell vehicles. Consequently, new technologies of ICEs continually emerging enhance competitiveness reducing environmental impacts. However, limited studies on life cycle assessment (LCA) make it difficult evaluate actual contributions a perspective. Conducting systematic review LCA could identify weaknesses gaps these scenarios. Therefore, this article presents first provide an overview current state knowledge. A total 87 between 2017 2023 using Scopus database were identified after searching keywords "Sustainability assessment" OR "Life AND "Internal engine*" "ICE*" carefully screening, then classified analyzed by six aspects including sustainability indicators, phases, inventories, (including alternative fuels), types systems. It is concluded that there quite solely focusing ICEs, lacks consideration of: 1. pollution, human health socio-economic aspects, 2. production process maintenance & repair phase, 3. small developing countries, 4. zero carbon/carbon-neutral fuels, 5. large high-power heavy-duty hybrid technologies.

Promoting positive emotional experiences for tourists is crucial sustaining development in rural areas. However, existing research has limited focus on the built environment, particularly developing a framework to evaluate environmental sentiment small medium scale with detailed indicators. This study addresses this gap by examining impact of environment tourists' emotions. Natural Language Processing (NLP) technologies are employed analyze web text data and determine average index traditional villages Fuzhou, China. Additionally, were acquired through HRnet segmentation model Matlab. To assess association between indicators index, we used eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), SHapley Additive exPlanation (SHAP) model, ArcMap software. The demonstrated that (1) spatial distribution was significant. Houfu Village (9.91), Qianhu (9.88), Ximen (9.75) had highest scores, while Doukui (−0.85), Jiji (0.2), Qiaodong (0.55) lowest. (2) have most significant Openness, Greenness, Color Complexity, contribution value above 0.7—followed Enclosure, Visual Entropy, Ground Exposure, 0.5 0.7. Furthermore, analyzing interaction mechanism showed non-linear relationship. characteristics associated high scores openness range 0.2 0.5, greenness 0.4 0.6, color complexity 0.3 0.5. provides observations pertinent sustainable village environments. findings contribute an understanding how these elements might be effectively designed improve settings.
