In order to evaluate the effect of market‐oriented environmental management measures on regional carbon emission intensity in pilot areas better, this paper adopts a quasinatural experiment energy‐use rights trading (EURT) policy by using difference‐in‐difference method from perspective cities China 2006 2019. The results show that EURT can significantly reduce intensity, which varies different regions and scales cities. main goal implementing is improving energy consumption structure promoting improvement industrial green innovation. addition, spatial impact project demonstrated its ability not only local but also decrease around designated areas.
