Mitigating greenhouse gas emissions and reducing fossil fuel dependence have heightened interest in alternative fuels, particularly agriculture, a key energy-intensive sector. This study investigates the use of Technology Acceptance Model Theory Planned Behavior to analyze Chinese farmers’ behavioral intentions adopt machinery. In 2023, total 281 full-time farmers were sampled from Jiangsu, Sichuan, Hebei provinces, followed by path analysis conducted using PLS-SEM. The results underline that perceived usefulness β = 0.369, p < 0.001, social norms 0.185, 0.001 are strong drivers for adoption machinery, while barriers operate infrastructure gaps act as inhibitors. Also, benefits 0.235, 0.002, behavior control 0.157, 0.027 positively predict intentions. thus suggests improvement technological increasing awareness practical economic machinery could result serious increase rates. does weaknesses, its focus on 50 mid-sized farms Midwest utilization self-reported data may limit generalizability findings. study, however, has major implications policy manufacturers underscore fact targeted interventions through subsidies, training programs, infrastructural development would be necessary permit transition toward sustainable energy agriculture.
