of
terpenoids
isolated
from
Asteraceae
species,
exhibit
broad
spectrum

effects
and

already
commercially
available,

artemisinin.
Here
the
most
recent
impactful
results
in
vivo,
preclinical
clinical
studies
involving
selection
ten
sesquiterpene
lactones
(alantolactone,
arglabin,
costunolide,
cynaropicrin,
helenalin,
inuviscolide,
lactucin,
parthenolide,
thapsigargin
tomentosin)
presented
discussed,
along
with
some
their
derivatives.
In
authors’
opinion,
these
compounds
have
been
neglected
compared
to
others,
although
they
could
be
great
use
developing
important
new
pharmaceutical
products.
The

sesquiterpenes
show
promising
anticancer
anti-inflammatory
effects,
acting
on
various
targets.

anxiolytic,
analgesic,
