Two phenoxy-ketimines ligands, 2-(1-(benzylimino)ethyl)phenol (HLBSMe) and 2-((benzylimino)(phenyl)methyl)phenol (HLBSPh), were synthesized used as supporting ligands of new copper(II), copper(I), silver(I) complexes. In order to confer different solubility properties the metal complexes stabilize Cu Ag in their +1 oxidation state, lipophilic triphenylphosphine (PPh3) hydrophilic 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane (PTA) selected co-ligands syntheses Cu(I) Ag(I) All compounds characterized by CHN analysis, NMR, FT-IR spectroscopy, electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS); molecular structure copper(II) complex [Cu(LBSPh)2] was also determined single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Finally, antibacterial activity complexes, Schiff base phosphane co-ligands, assessed determining minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) bactericidal (MBC) against Gram-negative (Escherichia coli) Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus).
