Machines and automated guided vehicles (AGVs) scheduling problems are two essential issues that need to be addressed for the efficiency of overall production system. The purpose this paper is study simultaneous problem machines AGVs in a flexible manufacturing system (FMS) since global optimum cannot reached by considering each them individually. In paper, mixed integer linear programming (MILP) model developed with objective makespan minimisation. MILP consists following constraint sets: sub-problems. As both sub-problems known NP-hard, heuristic algorithm based on tabu search (TS) proposed get optimal or near solution large-size within reasonable computation time. includes novel two-dimensional representation generation neighbour solutions, which alternately iteratively applied improve solutions. Moreover, an improved lower bound calculation method introduced problems. Computational results show superior performance TS problem.

Autonomous mobile robots (AMR) are currently being introduced in many intralogistics operations, like manufacturing, warehousing, cross-docks, terminals, and hospitals. Their advanced hardware control software allow autonomous operations dynamic environments. Compared to an automated guided vehicle (AGV) system which a central unit takes of scheduling, routing, dispatching decisions for all AGVs, AMRs can communicate negotiate independently with other resources machines systems thus decentralize the decision-making process. Decentralized allows react dynamically changes state environment. These developments have influenced traditional methods processes planning control. This study identifies classifies research related intralogistics.
