Decarbonising the heating sector is one of key elements to realizing ambitious dual carbon goals China, which largest emitter and energy consumer globally. Currently, district (DH) systems have penetrated approximately 88% urban areas in Northern China. Nevertheless, around 90% demand China still relies on fossil fuels. A larger scale integration renewable waste heat (REWH) sources into DH critical for decarbonising entire However, a deeper level comprehension required harness its full potential. This paper provides thorough investigation status, potential, national policy schemes REWH Combined with review recent literature relevant published both international Chinese domestic sources, trends, challenges, future perspectives are discussed from scientific research practical implementation aspects. highlights synergy DH, efficiency improvements as well use thermal storage technologies through 4th generation smart that could offer more economically viable pathway forward.

This research conducts a technical and economic feasibility study of multi-energy hybrid systems (MEHS) combining different renewables for northern climate city Finland to address issues replacing fossil energy by renewable sources (RES) achieve zero carbon emissions. The MEHS include geothermal, biomass solar energy. selected city-study site is the Olympic Training Center occupied heterogeneous buildings which presents good representative urban assessment supply demand. A generic integrated modeling framework grounded in combination novel forecasting models building demands, splitting space heating hot water use, coupled generation, time series electricity market developed investigate optimal configurations based on financial analysis. Innovative scenarios are developed. analysis results show that can flexibly meet demand be realised an innovative integration geothermal as well complementary Model uncertainty its impacts also considered discussed.

Shallow geothermal energy (SGE) is a green, clean, and renewable source that widely used for heating cooling. However, hydrogeology conditions, thermophysical properties, geological environment other factors influence the implementation of SGE projects. Making suitability evaluation before implementing projects necessary. The two most common methods are knowledge-driven data-driven methods. method relies on expert experience. criteria lacks subjective analysis. To address this shortcoming, study developed comprehensive multicriteria decision analysis framework (CMCDAF) evaluation. comprehensively uses fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP), Shannon entropy, importance through intercrieria correlation (CRITIC) genetic algorithm to calulate weights. Then technique order preference by similarity ideal solution (TOPSIS) grey relation analysis(GRA) rank each node select suitable area. verify CMCDAF, evaluate ground-coupled heat pump (GCHP) system in Yinchuan Results showed stable effective. It has advantages avoiding one-sided weights, facilitating selection areas. also potential be applied decision-making processes.

Abstract Concerns about greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels have made the use of renewable sources world's most important energy challenge. Among energies, geothermal has a special place due to its sustainable resources and shallow environmental impacts. These are classified as low‐grade thermal sources, so they cannot independently provide high amount energy. Therefore, extensive studies been conducted on practical methods using for multigeneration productions. Studies energy‐based systems supply various such chillers, electrolyzers, turbines, desalination units reviewed in this study. As methods, scenarios, possibilities multigenerational system (MGS) limited, study, while expressing limitations problems these systems, critical issues raised issue examined analyzed, compatibility, products, Levelized cost energy, exergy efficiencies, technical summarized. Also, recent studies, their combination with other evaluated. classification combine achieve productions is thrown last part The results show that used 90% cases heat cold load 10% generate electrical power. also improve efficiency economic viability by increasing stability.
