Water scarcity and soil fertility loss are major limitations for agricultural production. This study evaluated the effects of walnut shell biochar (WSB) fertilizer on growth lettuce (Lactuca sativa L. “Gran rapid”) in hydroponic conventional systems. WSB alone + were applied at different mass ratios to (0, 5, 10, 15%) system substrate 20%) system. Agronomic parameters such as fresh weight, dry leaf area index, number leaves evaluated. The results showed that addition improved both In hydroponics, combination increased weight by 45% 38% compared control without or fertilizer. system, 30% 25%, requiring additional Lettuce grown with 15% achieved a 1.8 times higher index than biochar. These findings suggest applications enhance crop yield, supporting principles circular economy sustainable waste management agriculture.
