Building rating systems allow for the evaluation of environmental buildings’ impact throughout their lifecycle, thereby enabling improved design. The integration vegetation into building envelopes, through green roofs and facades, provides multiple benefits that enhance sustainability a built environment. In arid climates, Building-Integrated Greenery Systems (BIGSs) contribute to energy savings improvement urban environment evaporative cooling. However, maintenance these requires efficient water use. This study thoroughly reviews six selected certifications determine extent which BIGSs are considered in certification process. findings indicate not yet well integrated directly certifications. While recognize biophilic effects on users contributions sustainable construction, they often overlook scientifically proven such as acoustic insulation noise reduction. highlights importance updating frameworks fully incorporate diverse advantages BIGSs, especially enhancing indoor environments achieving savings.
