Abstract To study the water absorption characteristics of corn, rice, and wheat straw after low-temperature pretreatment (120 ~ 200°C). This work introduces an internal particle diffusion model for moisture adsorption mechanism measures contact angle to assess hydrophobicity, establishing a linear relationship between kinetic parameters temperature. The results show that when temperature rises 200°C, hygroscopicity reduction extent corn straw, rice are 58.45%, 28.32% 12.12%, respectively, significant increase in hydrophobicity. three-stage equation can effectively describe process moisture. At 70% humidity, rate constant decreased boundary layer thickness increased. ASABE accurately predict content straw; conforms Peleg equation, which is subsequent large-scale high-quality utilization straw.

Abstract Biomass‐based saccharide valorization to produce lactic acid (LaA) via chemocatalysis has emerged as a promising approach meet the substantial demand of global LaA market, whereas manufacture prominent heterogeneous catalyst is still challenging. Herein, we fabricate series rare earth catalysts and indicate that Er supported onto titanium silicate‐1 (TS‐1) exhibits better activity than other for glucose transformation towards LaA. Remarkably, coupling Sn with TS‐1 enabled sharp increment yield, 3Sn15Er/TS‐1 outperformed reported date, giving high 82.2% 76.2% yields from sorbose glucose, respectively. The characterization demonstrated coexistence 2 O 3 7 on catalyst, both which contributed production. doping favored formation active particles in smaller size increased Lewis acidic sites when compared single 15Er/TS‐1, thereby promoting isomerization retro‐aldol reaction C intermediates. also showed universal diverse biomass‐based saccharides. This work might give useful insights explore superior biomass valorization.
