The need for renewable energy is regarded as a major component in the move towards achieving sustainable development. Using large sample of 177 countries over period 1990 to 2020, this research explores impact most significant drivers energy. Findings from work contribute literature by identifying deployment and their different responses developed developing economies. Empirical results suggest that GDP, oil price, access electricity, CO2 methane emissions are determinants renewables both share consumption electricity production. Additionally, trade found be driver total but not production model. Finally, our findings indicate factors influencing development vary significantly between countries, necessitating distinct approaches each group countries. These can play role policy perspective designing implementing specific policies increase deployment.
