This study examined the impact of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), trade openness, and remittances received on novel misery index, a measure macroeconomic dynamics, while considering heterogeneity in levels. It analyzed data from 1995 to 2022 across six economically uncomfortable East African Community (EAC) countries. Given non-normal distribution data, panel quantile regression model was employed address both distributional unobserved individual heterogeneity. The empirical findings indicated weak negative effects FDI lower index countries stronger upper Trade openness shows statistically significant countries, its are but not higher Additionally, remittance inflows have more pronounced positive show lesser with results robust even after accounting for additional controls, exclusion regressors, outliers, endogeneity issues, suggesting that foreign funds can enhance economic stability those misery. recommends promoting clean lower-meminous beneficial agreements, encouraging diaspora communities advocate productive remittances.
