This paper examines the impact of digital economy on urban carbon emissions in terms industrialisation, industrial digitalisation and governance. The results indicate that development Chinese cities reduces emissions, this result is robust. Further investigation shows industries governance underpin reduction effects. Finally, there significant regional heterogeneity China's with greater potential for less developed regions, trading policy helping to exploit regions.
