Most studies on industrial heat decarbonization by electrification focus energy and greenhouse gas emissions. However, there are additional potential environmental impacts to be considered make a fair comparison. The aim of the proposed work is therefore highlight benefits drawbacks switching electricity, using life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology explore more issues. In addition, in order evaluate sustainability this transformation, LCA results compared with thresholds defined two different methods, global scale “sustainable levels” concept. first method based current processes, while second considers economic added value. Industrial production levels for Danish French food industries used as case studies. show large number trade-offs associated electrification, some which leading unsustainable levels. Sustainability value ensure fairer distribution between sectors, particular preventing most virtuous sectors processes from being penalized.
